I installed Microsoft IIS web server from the program Features recently to play around with, but don't want it running at all times for now. Every time I reboot and login to Windows it automatically start the IIS server, is there a way to stop this from happening and only run it when I want?
Does anyone here ever used CPU-Z for viewing your computer specs? My SPD tab where I usually see my memory sticks details stopped showing the memory info like it used to do?? When I select Slot # it's all just greyed out. Also the same on the Graphics tab. Used to show my graphix card info now it's totally greyed out. Does anyone knows a fix?? Im using version 1.81.0 x64
Greetz from Germany!
If you guys can solve this you'll be my superheros forever
I installed Logitech Gaming Software and I have this new, constant process running in my process list, and at times it can chew up to between 20% - 30%. I don't even know what it is or what it's doing! Do I need this? If not, how can I stop it from running all the time?
Looking at my Task Manager, it's in this path:
My computer keeps waking up randomly and it's drinving me crazy when I'm watching TV late at night and the monitor comes on lighting up the entire room
Is there a way to see what's waking my computer from sleep?
If you're a AutoHotkey user, and you hate that it opens plain ol' vanilla Notepad.exe whenever you click on one of it's "Edit" / "Edit this Script" menu items, and want to use your own preferred text editor instead whenever you click the Edit link, you can do so.
It involves editing the registry by hand a bit, but to make it a whole lot quicker'n easier, I've already whipped up an AHK script to do it for you.
If you're into making your 'puter life a lot easier, little bits at a time, here's a nice little script for you ...
Just add this AHK script to your Windows Start Up, and it'll automatically always be there for you. See: How to Add AutoHotkey Scripts to Windows Start Up
Once it's running, you'll have 2 new global HotKeys available to you for use in any program you're using:
I was responding to a member's question and the topic of adding AutoHotkey scripts to Windows start up, so they ran automatically when Windows boots up, came up, so I thought I'd create a separate post that I could always point to in the future...
If you're unfamiliar with AHK, you just download it from their website and install it (or unzip it, if you get the zip version), then you simply call the AutoHotkey.exe followed by the path to the script you want to run.
I'm using EagleGet to manage all the downloads from all of my browsers and it works great, but, one thing that drives me nuts about it is that it won't minimize itself to the tray when I boot my computer! I've even gone as far as emailing their support asking how to do it and my email got completely ignored. Is there some way to do this? I'd be forever in your debt!
Hii
im using Asus laptop K55V, having graphic card GEFORCE GT 635M, so When i going to install graphics driver, showing like this "This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware".
And as i checked in device manager, its showing attention mark for "Microsoft Basic display adapter". (This device is not working because windows cannot load the drivers required for this device) .
Cheers everyone. Been a lurker here for quite some time and always enjoy the unique questions and answers!
I have a problem myself now, that I can't find any solution for after a good 2 days of Google searching.
