One of the nice things about owning a laptop or a netbook is that you can be mobile. The only problem with going mobile is that when you connect to the internet though public wi-fi you do open yourself up to possible hackers. As technology grows its easier and easier to break into a unsuspecting person and they have no clue. With a few easy steps you can protect yourself. Not to mention I will show you how you can do it for FREE.
You will notice that when you hover your mouse over a command a "screen tip" pops out to tell you what that particular command does. Ok, that's great if you're a beginner but some of you are more experienced than that and these pop out screen tips can become annoying after a while, here's how to get rid of them:

In the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the "Open" and "Save As" dialog boxes there are options like My Recent Documents, My Documents, Desktop etc. This is convenient for when you open the same files over and over. THE PROBLEM: You try to do a system recovery on your HP computer and it doesn't work , you follow all the steps on HP website but no boot screen when you hit F11 key !
Solution:
This tip is great for use in MS Word or Excel.
Hitting the F4 key will repeat your last action in either of these two programs. For example, if you have inserted a row or column in Excel using the Insert menu, hitting F4, will insert a second row or column without using the menu.
It is also great for formatting text in Word, for example, bolding, underlining, text color, or italicizing, etc. Just remember it repeats your last action only.
