How To Select Text Vertically in MS Word

Most everybody knows how to select text horizontally in MS Word, but sometimes you may need to select text vertically. For example, you might need to delete the first few words in every line in a list or, bold or italicize it. So here's how to select text vertically in Word 2007.

Just hold down the "Alt" key and select the text, now you can bold, delete, italicize, change font, or whatever it is you need to do.

Easy peasy Big Grin

The Windows Command Window - What Is It? How Do I Get To It? And How Do I Use it?

The Windows Command Window - What Is It? How Do I Get To It? And How Do I Use it?

Ahh yes, the Windows "Command Window" ... You're already scared ... I can feel it through your shaky fingers resting on the keyboard ...

I know ... it's kind of ugly ... no purty icons to click on, just a black screen, white text and you have to type everything by hand, usually with cryptic "commands". Have no fear ... GeekDrop's here ... or something along those lines ...

verizon wired / wireless router and advanced security

I have Verizon as an ISP, and I have some wireless and some wired hardware. Verizon recomended some advanced security measures, and to disable the SSID (I think), so people could not randomly access wireless signal. While I was making the changes, packets sent and packets received values were both at zero but by the time I finished, packets sent was 1642 and packets received were 2146. Does anyone have any idea why that would be the case?
I had read somewhere that companies were injecting packets? What are packets anyway?

Synonyms In MS Word

If you're typing a letter in Word or let's say even a resume but you don't want to use the same word over and over, you can easily choose a synonym by doing the following, in this case the word I want to change for a similar meaning is "cell".

Right click on the word you want to replace with a synonym, and the following menus will pop up.
