So wired did a story on ppl having "Buyers Remorse" that products they though would last them years are only being replaced after a few months - is this fair to the consumer. I know we always want the newest most best product but some times I think the manufactures jump the guns to put a product out there only to come out with a upgrade product a few months later. Its almost like there needs to be a technology etiquette. I know microsoft tends to come out with a new OS like every 3 years or so, I think that is fair. I know that office 2007 seam

#1. Laptop batteries are not cheap to replace.
#2. Over a short period of time (1-2 years) the charge a laptop battery holds diminishes.
#3. Many of us use our laptop while keeping it plugged in.
Well guess what? That last one, #3... that right there... it adds to #2... which causes us to revert to #1
Ok if your operating systems is Vista one way you can speed it up and optimize it is to use a feature called "Readyboost". What readyboost does is it allows your pc to use more memory. There are all types of ways to back up your computer data but its something that you should get into a habit of doing every so often. Its just kinda a insurance policy in case you should ever get that dreaded blue or gray screen of death. There are many ways you can back up your data.
Intel was not only charged with but found guilty and fined in European Union court for 1.45 billion dollars. That far surpasses the fine that they imposed on Microsoft in 2004 (they only got 498 million). In fact that is the larges to date in EU's courts. It doesn't stop there with Intel also. They are also being looked at by the US Antitrust and the Japanese & South Korea's courts.
