I had the luxury a couple of days ago of doing this, and reading the manual that came with the cable box on how to program your TV and any auxillary device (that includes the codes needed to enter into it to match your other devices), it turned out that the manual was wrong.
When shopping for a new computer its really is determined on that purpose you plan to use it for. Really there is no right or wrong answer but more of what are you looking for in it? What are your expectations in it?
Debating the two has been a topic of discussion in my house the past 2 months or so. My middle son has saved his money and is looking to make a purchase but which one. Currently he has a ipod 80GB. Its seen better days and is having some issues so he wants to up grade to the world of touch. Our house has had a love hate relationship with ipod and itunes. Last year I made the jump from a ipod 80GB to a Zune 120GB and I've been very happy with it.
SO I'm watching the Today Show like I do every morning and I watch the extended show with Hoda and Kathy Lee when they announced they are having a Tech-Makeover (click the picture to see the contest).

I recently bought a 55 inch Samsung LED Television model UN55B8000 and figured it was worthy of a review up here on the drop. I won't beat around the bush here. This tv is SWEET! Not only is it ultra thin being a mear 1.2 inches thick but the picture is simply amazing! But what I am really happy about is the network capabilities that this thing has.

So when does ones privacy and National Security go to far? On Thursday there was a new law passed under the Obama administration giving Homeland Security more rights to search your computer and any electronic device you may have while traveling. OK I'm all for the National Security but I think this new ruling goes overboard. In the past when going though security you are required to remove any laptop or electronic device to be scanned individually. There have been some occasions when they might even ask you to turn them on. I know I had that happen to me
With school there are always some good deals to be had on Flash Drives and some really cool designs out there. I thought we could share and show some here..
I was at Office Depot today and they had some great ones. I picked up these today for the kids (both colors) - click the pics to see them (I only paid $14.99 in the store)
The Dell Latitude 2100 is a pretty cool laptop and is aimed toward the student market. It has a LED strip at the top of the edge of the lid that lights up whenever the computer is connected to either a wired or wireless network. This gives both parents and teachers the heads up if the kid goes online, pretty genius I think. However, here's a way for the kids to disable that giveaway sign and surf unbeknownst to parents and teachers. It is also easily reconnected. Check out how to do it
