Nokia and AT&T unveiled the Booklet 3G --a Win7 laptop--for the price of $299
BUT ONLY WITH a 2-yr service contract-- you must also pay $60/ month to AT&T for a data plan. So for 2 years you pay $1739 for the super-portable laptop that can work & do wireless "anywhere" (5GB monthly data cap). They say that there may be other pricing plans offered in the future. Otherwise you can get it for $599 without the service contract (also only at Best Buy).

) I would want to buy this laptop even with the service contract because wireless internet that only works at my place (Charter) costs about $60-65/month and would only work at my home. If i got this, i would assume it would work anywhere: including starbucks (which normally you'd have to pay for their wi-fi), panera, the library, a friend's house, my car--in Park of course, the middle of a grassy field....
Hey my cell phone bill is enough of a frivolity for me right now at about $20/month--and i can use it for most of the basic internet browsing i do too. How about you--does it appeal to you at all?

I wouldnt be really interested, $60 a month for a data plan i think is outrageous and I'm not a fan of AT&T. I would however like to know how you only pay $20 a month for cell phone service WITH internet browsing, thats a STEAL!
With only 1GB of ram and having to pay $60. a month on a network that is already overloaded (with iphones) I say NO Deal. There are alot more better deals out there that you can even get financing on. As for the date - no one can sell any PC or laptop with win7 prior to Oct 22. The stores I'm sure are storing them till the release
