hi everyone, I'd like to know what is the font name used on the Barnes & Noble Nook? Not the fonts that can be switched between on the Nook, but the actual B&N font they use for the logo as an example? The one with the N that looks like an upside-down U. Like in this pic.
Not sure if you mean the font in the application or the font of the logo.
Most logo's aren't a font. This logo looks like Futura is used as a basis.
I know this is really old, but if someone is looking for a font like this, then they KNOW that logo's aren't usually simply fonts. Thats not what the question was. Someone looking for the answer to this question is looking for a way to produce their own text in a similar style.
The proper answer to this question is a font that looks similar: Mink Regular
That font is the closest i could find. The only difference I can discern is the k, but it isn't too far off from the original logo.
Thanks Anonymous! It does look identical with the exception of the K, which I've seen in a few other fonts (that I can't remember offhand at the moment), so a combination of the Mink font + another font for the K should do it. Marking this thread as Solved.
The Nook work was created using monotype gill. Eric Gill was a prolyphic book designer at the turn of the century, seemed only right to use his typeface. We hand created the n.
Hope this helps. Best Marc Shillum
Thanks a million Marc! Honored to have your reply on the topic.
