my wife's Nook this morning reset itself to version 1.3 and it had 1.4 on it. just when she turned it on it said reverting to 1.3. has anyone had this problem or heard of this happening before? i have had it for over a month now and it has been working flawlessly until this morning.
any help would be appreciated
well i got the update back on the Nook and it seems to be working fine again. my wife is letting it go into sleep mode at night and will only turn it off completely when she wont use it for a few days. other than that i dont know why it happend and i cant seem to find anybody else who has experienced the same issue.
thanks for the info though, hopefully it wont happen again but if it does then i am going to have to talk to Barnes and Noble i guess which would be a shame because my wife really loves the Nook and she uses it everyday.
I love my Nook too, and for the most part it's pretty stable, but I've had alot of annoying little problems with it too. I've had mine since around the end of January.
One of the biggest problems with mine is the OS is a bit unstable when it comes to reading books you sideload (copy onto it yourself). If you copy a bunch of books onto it, and it somehow doesn't like just one of them, you can be prevented from even seeing your entire library (of the one's not downloaded directly from B&N). You'll go to check for new content and it'll just hang there forever. You need to go back and slowly delete everything you just put on until you discover the one it's gettign hung up on, which can be a big PITA.
If B&N could at least just add something to it's error checking to put a dialog box on the screen telling exactly which book it's choking on, it would help immensely. Either way, B&N does put out nice updates and frequently, so here's to hoping they get that little problem worked out real soon.

I've heard that if the Nook runs into some sort of internal problem and it tries to reset itself too many times in a row it'll automatically revert itself to an older firmware as a protection mechanism. As long as you have it connected to wireless/wifi it should detect the new update and re-install it again. Let us know how it goes.
