I'd like to convert a few avi files to formats that I can burn to dvd and later watch on a dvd player. Seems like ConvertXtoDVD was the proggy that I used to use, but now its no longer freeware. I'm wondering if you guys could offer an alernative.....
thanks
I swear by DVD Flick. I've even used it to rescue a burned copy of a movie that would play in VLC but not in a DVD player. Hell of a program. And Free!
I'll give it a try, thanks
seems to work well, but it delays the audio in the output file. Did you have trouble with this? seems alot of users have, but I couldnt find a solution
I've had audio sync problems before but never after using DVD flick. Just converted a movie to DVD the other day. No problems at all.
from avi files? I tried a few other free softwares, and got a delay. I wonder if I could have a codec problem or something?
Yep, avi. I haven't done anything special as far as codecs are concerned. I'm running a fairly fresh install of Windows 7. I wonder if DVDflick has a forum. I'll try to see if I can find anything.
*edit: I found this.
EDIT TITLE ....> AUDIO TRACKS ...> EDIT ...> check the box "IGNORE AUDIO DELAY FOR THIS TRACK"
That is from the DVD flick forums. Hope it helps.
I got hit with the audio sync problem on a video yesterday. Here is the solution I found. it worked perfect.
DaVideo3 is my favorite but its complicated for some of us english speaking people to use, I still use it before any other program ! It ripps DVD's and convert them and can convert from file back to DVD also supports VCD, SVCD and more.
DVDSanta is another fav ! It actually works for what you want to really well ! It doesn't support VCD or SVCD but you can burn most video formats to dvd without problems
DVD Shrink is another great DVD tool , Im not sure if it can creat DVD from regular video files?
The DVD program I use most is DVDFab6
Just trying to stick to the free stuff jayson, but thanks.
dvdfab is my fav proggy ever. free and copies any movie out there.
Too bad it won't convert my avi file

It's kind of a complicated process, so most programs that do this charge money for their work investment. But here's a Free one that I haven't personally tried. You can see if it helps you. Clicky
There's also a few other choices besides ConvertXtoDVD if you want try them, one may be cheaper if ya end up wanting to buy one afterall. A couple are DVDSanta and SuperDVDCreator
If you really want to get into the nuts and bolts of doing it, here's a long thread on the subject that may be of use to you.
