GMail Problem

Good morning everyone!

I got a new computer and I am in the midst of setting it up. I have a gmail account and I cannot log into it with using this new computer.

I still have my old computer and can log into it using it so I know the log in information is correct and hasn't been compromised.

I have cleared the cache done everything I possibility can think of and I still can not log into gmail with my new computer.

I am using Firefox and I am using Safari on the mac side of the computer.

Service Pack 2 for Windows Vista (and Windows Server 2008)

For anyone unaware, there is a Service Pack 2 (SP2) available for Windows Vista. It doesn't show up in the built-in Windows Update for some reason, so many may not be aware of it yet. Here is a download link so that you can download the stand-alone update (for free of course assuming your copy of Vista is legit) Smile

WHAT is the name of that font??

So you see a font that you want to use in something, be it in an image in photoshop, or you want to use it in Word, whatever ... but have NO idea what the name of it is, so that you can download and install it on your system?

I found a great site that has an 'automatic' font identification system, that you link to or upload a sample image with the font in it, and an expert there will try and identify the font name for you. Even if it's a custom font that may have started out from another font, they do a great job identifying it.

Will You Change Your Search Habits For $$$

So with Microsoft's desperation to make Bing a success they are now paying customers with "Bing cash back" for using Bing and making purchases. Here is one of Bing's commercials:

What Is Your Internet Speed?

Currently the US ranks 28th in the world for internet speed. In my opinion that is horrible. As advanced of a nation that we are to be ranking 28th is appalling. Right now the fastest country is South Korea with download speeds of 20.4 megabits per second (mbps). They are followed by Japan at 15.8 mbps, then Sweden at 12.8 mbps and the Netherlands at 11.0 mbps. What is the average speed for the US a pitiful 5.1 mbps as reported by yahoo

Viewing Restricted Websites

So son o'mine in Ireland at the moment, tried to watch the Teen Choice Awards 2009. I told him it was on Hulu7 day free trial of Hulu Plus and tv.com and some other website that I can't remember now. Anyway he wasn't able to do it because it was only for viewing in the U.S. Does anyone know how to get around this? Would a proxy work?

Large File Sharing Sites

Have you ever had to send a friend a large file and there was just no way to do it. Have you ever tried to send a file and your email serviced bounced it simply because of the type of file (the extension). I know I have ran into this quite a few times. I try and share a family video with a friend and its to large to email - to long for youtube. Yeah I have sent it over file sharing on Windows Live Messenger but there are times it could take hours. So what do you do? Well there are a number of services that will help you with that. Here

What is Gravatar?

A "gravatar" is a Globally Recognized Avatar. It's an image that appears alongside your name when you post on blogs and forums etc. If you're an active participant in online discussions, get a gravatar and get recognized. However it can be a pain to upload your avatar to every site where you participate. And if you want to change your avatar, you have to do it all over again.

You Must Obey: The Unwritten Laws of Technology

Laughing Ok I thought these were funny because they are also SO true... I'm sure most of us here have experienced any one of them at some point. I'm the Excel guru in work... anyone that has an Excel issue they run to me. Me thinks that wicked Murphy's law plays a part in all this too. So tell us which ones you have experienced!

"Fix a computer for a friend or family member, and you'll be tech support for life." This is but one of 35 immutable laws of technology that we've identified and recorded for posterity. There will be a test".
