gmail questions -calendar and signature

i have a gmail account and i am trying to get my calendar to show. keeps saying failed to load. anyone else have this problem? ive never used it before
also, there is an emoticon i want to use in my outgoing signature. i tried copy and pasting it. no luck. anyone know of a way to do it?

A few things come to mind to try right off. Is your net connection a little squirrly? Sometimes things fail to load when the connection is acting up.
You could also try clearing your cache and cookies, and then refreshing that page.
Also, if you're using Firefox it might be an extension acting up. You could try starting Firefox with the --profilemanager switch added to the shortcut, create a blank new profile, and then trying to get to the calendar. If it works, I'd play around with disabling extensions until you find the perp. 
we have cox so yea...our internet is always a little squirrly. sigh. i tried clearing cache and cookies. no luck.
i also tried in ie8. the rest of your suggestion involving FF is like chinese to me. sorry. 
, no need to worry about the last part then if it's happening in both IE and FF. I have to suspect a connection issue of some variety if it's with both browsers. I know when I'm using Gmail on my wireless laptop sometimes, and i'm getting a bad signal, it won't load some things, like the chat.
One thing you could sniff aorud for though is something on your computer/network causing conneciton slowness/issues. If you're using a router, or hub, or some sort of other bottleneck, etc.
