Since yesterday when I go to open a folder or file, they are all showing in reverse alpha order. They are all showing with the letter Z first and going backwards, it's driving me crazy, how do I get it back to the way it was with A showing first?
Yeah i must be off today, where exactly are you when you choose those options?
I had just opened a file but you can do that at the top of your docs too.

That's in Windows Explorer. Shortcut is Windows Key+E, or just click the Explorer icon in your start menu.
Yeah that takes me to "my computer" but where do I go if I'm in Excel or Word.. ?
What version of windows you using ?
Heres what I would do in Vista (it should be close in XP)
Windows Key+E , the right click, the scroll down one to Sort by hover over that and click name click it again to reverse order !
similiar to what SM and Dogg they both are right !
If this dont help can you take a screenshot of what you are talking about?
Not sure what you mean by excel or word? If I saw a pic probably clear it up
If you are talking about a excel spreadsheet if you are using same version as me you should see a thing on top right says editing then click on a-z like in this pic
Here you go!
To resolve this behavior, and reset the default sort order:
Right-click Start, click Explore, & then click drive C.
On the View menu, click Details.
Click the Name column to sort items by name, press & hold down the CTRL key, & then quit Windows Explorer by clicking Close in the upper-right corner of the screen.
Release the CTRL key.
Restart your computer.
Note: You must perform these steps exactly as they are listed. For example, do not quit Windows Explorer by clicking Exit on the File menu.
[I didn't have to restart my computer]
