Have you tried to make grub your boot manager?
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecoveringUbuntuAfterInstallingWindows
I'm in the process of upgrading to Win 7 and I deleted my partitions to start from scratch. I only had vista installed and it wouldn't boot cause Grub was still trying to be the boot manager. Once I installed Mint 8 and let grub keep control I could boot into Windows just fine.
My laptop is now completely dead because a genuis Microsoft professional told me to delete ubuntu files . So since geekdrop is not iPhone freindly I won't be able to post much unroll I get it fixed. I don't have a vista disc so it may be weeks, months, or years before I have a computer again !
(this is being posted from my iPhone)
Can you download one from a torrent site and use the key you have? Is your laptop under warrantee still? If its still under warrantee (I thought it was) then call the manufacture and just tell them you have a blue screen and don't mention the partitions. They will just re-image it back to specs.

Then just re-install Ubuntu. Then you'll have a working computer again.
I tried to do that with no Luck whatso ever when I tried to load Ubuntu install it said no harddrive found ! I have a UBCD disc I made a long time ago that I booted it from and I can see my harddrive works fine I backed up my files with it no prob ! Also tried to install win 98 and no luck there !
So since geekdrop is not iPhone freindly
What isn't iPhone friendly? It looks like you posted here fine with it?
Have you ever used an iPhone to respond on myspace or on geekdrop? If so you will notice how hard it is to get the iPhone to go into text mode to even type or recognize the typing area only after 45 minutes of zooming in and out and tapping on the screen could I get it to recognize the Dang thing !
I don't have an iPhone. You can try going into your profile and disabling the Rich Text editor. That might help.
Ok Jayson as I talked to you yesterday I sent you a copy of my vista home premium 32 bit (since you didn't have the right one) however you will need to use your own key (located on the bottom of your laptop on the windows sticker). I also downloaded and burned to a CD the basic drivers you will need for your model number you gave me. I downloaded and burned the motherboard chipset drivers, wireless lan drivers and the audio drivers. Should you need any more drivers you can get them here: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGN-NR310E#div_pos_114
Good luck and if that doesn't help you then I would say embrace your love for Ubuntu as izzle said below.
The CD's are in the mail today.........
