This second installment of the Transformers franchise has surpassed my expectations. Jam pack a movie with action, sprinkle it with a little humor, and add an epic plot...then you'll have yourself Transformers: Revenge of the fallen.
The central plot focuses on the Decepticons and Autobots battling it out on Planet Earth each for one goal. The Autobots form an alliance with the human race in attempts to defeat the Decepticons. Do the Autobots succeed in relinquishing the Deceptions' efforts to destroy the Earth's sun to feed off it's energy? Well, you'll just have to watch the movie and find out.
This one was much better than it's first counterpart with a more complex story line that keeps your interest. There are surprisingly a couple of heart-string pulling moments (only if you're a fan of Transformers to begin with). They also bring in quite a few new alien robots. So look out for ones you haven't seen before....and the others that you have seen.
This is a must-see summer movie!
I'm so glad to hear this, because the critics hung the movie, shot it, and burned the body.
I know for me generally when the critics hate it I will love it. I have not seen this yet but my kids did and they loved it. Its on my list of movies to watch
I took my 10 year old to see it in IMAX, by far worth every red cent.. or should I say green bill cause movies haven't been payable in change in Decades. Is "complex" what critics are calling movies with an actual plot now??
Thanks for the review....I was waiting for a real fan of the franchise to say something about it. None of my friends have seen it yet and the critics all hate it but none of them like transformers anyway so screw them.
I missed Terminator 4 because of school but I'm definitely not missing this one.
The movie is 10x's better than the first one, most definately. They threw in a little cheese but with a "Fox" like Megan Fox what else would they do. There are very few movies that I would go opening day to see and especially in IMAX. The action is great, Michael Bay is an awesome Director and knows his stuff. He directed "The Rock", "Bad Boys", and "Armageddon". All these movies were full of action and left me energized.
I may be a chick but I grew up with Optumis Prime and love Transformers. It would be great if I could get my husband with a voice of OP. hahaha just kidding
I love when they throw in cheesy things that kinda makes you giggle. My kids loved the movie and eventually I will get a chance to watch it. I'll probably catch with my dad - he loves these movies too. If I catch it with my kids but 75% of the time they will say look mom ____ is going to happen.
I really want to get out and see this in the theater, and that's no small task for me. To put it one way, I think the last movie I saw in a theater was the first Transformers movie. Yeah, I mean the live action one, and not the original cartoon. That would be going waaaay back. But I am a hard-core TFG1 fan and was pleasantly surprised by how good the first movie was. Everyone saying this one is better just makes me want to see it more.
For anyone else who's a old school fan, they are currently re-releasing the G1 cartoon on DVD. First in "season" box sets, and then a huge "Matrix of Leadership" complete series 16 DVD set. I'm holding out for that one. It's supposed to blow away the Rhino releases from a few years ago. A new company got the rights and spent a lot of time cleaning up original animation cells and adding any special features they could find, like the old (and maybe Japanese) commercials. Here's a clicky for some more info.
dang I'm such a geek...
I don't get excited over too many movies, but I'm pretty stoked to see this one.
I'm so glad to hear this, because the critics hung the movie, shot it, and burned the body. I loved the first one and look forward to seeing this one soon!
