Well with all of the facebook privacy changes you might be shocked to find that something you though was private is now public for the world to see. Easy fix huh? Well it is if you know where to look and ALL of the spots to look in since facebook likes to make it not so easy to find.

ReclaimPrivacy is a nifty little service runs an in-browser test on your Facebook privacy settings to show you what you're showing the world. Not only does it scan your privacy settings but also the source code. Did I mention this is FREE and no program to download!!! Click the icon to go to their site:

OK your thinking ummm yeah no thanks I'm not giving them my password. We don't worry you don't have to. See the scanner operates within your own browser. Here is their privacy policy:

Our privacy policy is not long:

  • we never see your Facebook data
  • we never share your personal information

So what does it really do? Well here are my screen shots from my scan:

So it did see that I have it marked its ok for someone to send me a facebook message and to add me as a friend and I'm ok with that. Everything else was fine. The scan took all of about 2 min to do. Smile

If your like me and a parent you might want to run this on your kids facebook accounts also - gotta keep the kiddos safe too!

ummm, this isn't working for me. Whenever I click 'scan for privacy' it tells me I need to be logged into facebook, which I am

Edit: Ok nevermind I got it, seems to work really well. No downloads or anything. Thanks SM Smile

That was easy. I passed each "test". I'm secure! For now.
