Here's my situation:

  • I use Comcast for Broadband on my home PC. It only alots 1TB per month, then stuff starts to get REALLY expensive.
  • I also have an unlimited plan for Verizon Wireless for my family's cell phone plan, which includes unlimited hotspot.
  • (You probably already see where I'm going with this) Smile
  • I have a LAN NIC (adapter) that is connected to Comcast, as well as my local network.
  • I also have a separate Wireless NIC.
  • When my Comcast data runs out, I want to completely block ALL *internet* access on my LAN NIC, while still allowing me to use my local network, to access shared folders, my security cam, etc.,  so I don't get charged for anything else by Comcast (the greedy mutts. Laughing).
  • THEN, I'll enable my phone's Wi-Fi hotspot, and use my Wi-Fi NIC purely for internet, until the next month where my Comcast plan resets.

Most firewall software have a feature to "block all internet access", which is great, but it only works for the entire internet connection, so if I do that, I'm still unable to get internet with my hotspot. If I could simply block all internet to my LAN NIC, while not blocking internet to any other adapters, it would be perfect!

Thanks for any help!

Re: Disable All Internet Connections By Adapter?

Grab a copy of NetConnectChoose, it'll let you switch between default adapters whenever you want. The "default adapter" is the one that Windows will route your internet traffic through when you have multiple adapters.

Shhh.. dont tell anyone, but we also have a private forum area with the really good stuff, see?
