So did anyone rush out to purchase a iPad or at the very least check one out and play with one? I'll admit I didn't rush out to check it out but I have been reading the reviews. I am interested in the whole tablet computing and I think we will see this year many different options and that they will revolve.
My Nook has been working wonderfully since I got it but last night when I pressed the power button to turn it on and then went to My Library, it automatically went to "Checking For New Items" "this will only take a moment", and it's been stuck like that for over 12 hours now! The screensaver even comes on and it doens't come back so that it's usable when I bring it out of screensaver mode. Even shutting it all the way off and then back on it does the same thing. Help!
hi everyone, I'd like to know what is the font name used on the Barnes & Noble Nook? Not the fonts that can be switched between on the Nook, but the actual B&N font they use for the logo as an example? The one with the N that looks like an upside-down U. Like in this pic.
Does anyone know the right size to make the wallpaper on a Nook? I get borders when I do it 800x600.
Ohhhhh check this out its the "skiff reader". Its larger and its flexable (you can roll it up like a paper)
Its made from Stainless Steel foil and not glass like the others. It can take a beating too, unlike the others. Its also larger, great for papers. The only drawback is that there is no color.
Saw this piece of news today and thought it was pretty cool!
Attention book-readers: Kindle has an iPhone app that lets you do a lot of what you can do with a Kindle
, without the Kindle
. Also, Amazon says that a Kindle
Blackberry App is on the way as well! (yay!) So if you don't have access to a Kindle
or the 300-some odd dollars that it costs, have no fear!
So much for the dog eating your homework excuse now some can say well Amazon deleted it off the Kindle. Well now a kid is sueing (class action lawsuit). He spent the summer doing a summer reading assignment on the book "1984" when all of a sudden Kindle
deleted it. It pulled that book and the book "Animal Farm" both written by Orwell. Not only did they stop selling it in thier store but they went in and remotely removed it from kindles that were already purchased. They did refund the money that users had paid for it.
So as a way to cut budges alot of schools are looking at the idea of going from old fashion text books to e-books. Yes the start up cost to purchase the e-book readers are more money but in the long run the schools could update books and purchase the books much cheaper. The downside however is the cost of the e-readers and lets face it your handing these over to kids. Kids are not exactly careful. Picture it e-readers tossed in backpacks that are thrown around, dropped, I think you get the picture.
So if your in the market to purchase one of those Kindle ebooks you might want to really do your homework. It seams that Amazon in its improvements to the kindles may have back fired.
