Wow, I like that. Have you used it? I wonder if they add in some toolbars into the install process.
It says no tool bars but I'm going to give it a spin to try. I should try it now on one or more of the programs to see if it really does a clean install. That way if it does add crap I will erase it with the install of Win 7. Oh yeah off to test it - I'll report back on that one in a few.

OK I just installed Chrome (on it now) and VLC media player. Both installed clean and no added tool bars. Chrome let me import all of my foxfire bookmarks and all. VLC installed perfect (if you have never used it its a great media player).
So in my opinion ![]()

Chrome is now my default browser and I install VLC on any computer I touch, I consider it an essential especially for my Linux boxes.
I agree with VLC I use it on every system, I like it much better then Windows media player or itunes. I've have chrome on my one laptop and I tried it a while back on my PC but never really got into it. On my PC it gave me issues with a program I run called UltraMon (used for dual monitors). I had removed it from my PC but re-installed it for this test, same with VLC.

Anyone actually install it yet? Opinions?
Well if I can get this stupid report (work) done I will tonight but Its looking more like tomorrow night now. I will say that foambrush is a Microsoft Beta tester and he has had if for a while (dual boot) he LOVES it. He said its wicked fast for start-ups and shut downs and tht everything loads much faster. According to him it has the vista look but more like the XP speed (but better). Hearing him go on and on about it is what made me order it and I'm dying to try it but I don't want to rush though a install either.
I'll post screen shots and a review when I install it

This is how I intend to get my copy. I'm not a student (yet) so I'm going to team up with someone with a .edu email and get mine. This will come in handy as well.
The download is an executable and this tutorial will show you how to make an installation DVD for safe keeping.
Also I found this sweet download for a Windows 7
recovery disc just in case you don't end up with one.
