Hi GD, I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. Well, my field of interest is math,science and computers. Since being young, I'm not that skilled in all these fields. Just have a few math sum difficulties.
So, right to the problems:
1. Find x,y,z(all real numbers) if x4+y4+z4+4xyz=-1 .
2. Prove that 11987+21987+31987+......+n1987 is not divisible by n+2
(Hints provided: an+bnand an-bnis divisible by a+b only if n is odd).
It is highly appreciated if you can provide me the steps to solve both.
PS: I know i shouldn't be asking for math answers on the internet
1. = 0 (for all of them)
This looks wrong to me.
If you ask me one of them must be -1 and the other two 0
1. = 0 (for all of them)
This looks wrong to me.
Yeah, actually i know the answers but not the steps, anyway, thanks STaRDoGG
Actually I was just playing with ya, I have absolutely no clue what the answers are. I'll have to pass that one along to Evil Monkey who just took some college math classes recently.
I sooooooooooooo hate math but I will pass on a site that has saved my butt a few times and it not only gives you the answer but shows you step by step. As a mom of boys in High school I love this site:

that was annoying, I know that 14 year olds normally couldn't get the step by step answer to these. Actually these are from my coaching class. Even my school math teacher couldn't solve them xD . But anyway you're not lucky that I'm asking you other questions that I have solved in number theory. Just hoping when I will start calculus, cause it will be much fun doing extremely tougher problems.
that was annoying
sorry, I had to test ya to make sure you weren't trolling. It's not often someone registers and their first post is one like yours
Actually it's pretty impressive what they have you doing out there at your age.
That's fine, but anyway, I will be asking stuff about gaming soon :nerd
Learning is always fun if taken in the right spirit. I think online tutors are best persons to guide students doing their studies. They provide 1-to-1 tutoring to the students. There are several websites available to help students learning math. I personally like Tutorteddy.com. My daughter uses it; she is in 8th grade and has improved a lot after she has started taking online math tutoring from this site.

Hey Rishi, welcome to GD.
First off, congrats on such well spoken English, being from India! I know people born in America who can't even speak that well!
Well, that's quite a math problem they're giving 14 year olds over there ... why so easy? Couldn't they have at least tried to make it somewhat difficult? Ya gotta keep up with American kids.
Anyway, to answer your questions:
1. = 0 (for all of them)
2. = This one is easy to prove it's not ... because the entire problem lies within this number: 21987 ... if it were 21986! THEN it would be divisible by n+2. Hard to believe anyone couldn't get that ...
I'd provide the steps to resolve those, but those easy math questions have become such second nature to me by now that it all just happens sort of automatically in my head. It's not much different than asking someone the steps on how to pick their nose.
Good luck in school!
