Thank you! Worked like a charm.
I searched Barnes and Noble's web site and could not find any advice.
i tried doing the second option but it just stays as frozzen .
Hey Karen,
Are we talking about 2 different Nooks here? (you mentioned one won't turn on, and one where the screen is locked?), and by "locked", do you mean you are viewing an actual lock screen? (i.e. a screen asking for a PIN number, or similar?)
The manual restore worked, but I had to do the holding for 12 seconds 10 times rather than 6 times. Maybe I messed up the first time and had to do it four more times or something. I don't really know, but it did reset to factory settings. However, I could never get the reader to connect to my internet. So I cannot register or use it. Thanks for your help in resetting.
Factory reset 2.2 worked like a charm. I actually tried the "power + <" method first and it seemed to just turn it off. Then, while off, I used "Power button + n-home button" and it booted up asking if I wanted to reset. Yay! Been trying to get this stupid thing to successfully do the settings menu reset for 3 days. I think the problem may be that the Nook is too old to use the available network protocols - so even tho it connects, maybe it's not even at "G" or "N" level. regardless - I can dump the thing now!! Thank you.
OMG THIS WORKED AFTER I FORGOT MY PASSWORD ...THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU !
