So how much do you take as real on the internet? If you read something that gets your attention would you report it or just choose to click and walk away? At what point do you feel you need to step in on things?
An Oklahoma City man who announced on Twitter that he would turn an April 15 tax protest into a bloodbath was hit with a federal charge of making interstate threats last week, in what appears to be first criminal prosecution to stem from posts on the microblogging site.
Daniel Knight Hayden, 52, was arrested by FBI agents who identified him as the Twitter user CitizenQuasar. In a series of tweets beginning April 11, CitizenQuasar vowed to start a "war" against the government on the steps of the Oklahoma City Capitol building, the site of that city's version of the national "Tea Party" protests promoted by the conservative-leaning Fox News.
"START THE KILLING NOW! I am willing to be the FIRST DEATH!," read a tweet at 8:01 PM that day. "After I am killed on the Capitol Steps, like a REAL man, the rest of you will REMEMBER ME!!!," he added five minutes later. Then: "Send the cops around. I will cut their heads off the heads and throw the[m] on the State Capitol steps."
I agree and I think when certain things are said on the net you just cant take the chance. Be it someone going off like this about hurting others or if someone goes off saying they were going to hurt themselves (like take their life). I think you have a moral obligation to report.
there are limitations to "free speech" at least I think so. Proof that common sense is not quite as common as you'd hope
I agree because I would rather error on the side of caution. In the end I would rather think that I possibly over reacted then under reacted. Think of those who had read the notes from those Columbine shooters. I also remember that one kid (well there have been many) that said they could not take it any more and ended their lives. I can't live with that on my conscience.

Seems like he put a lot of thought into his words, hes a looney, and he should be arrested!

Wow. I don't think a lot of comments made on the internet are worth an investigation, but those comments were a bit much. They seemed real to me. At least real enough that I would want the police to investigate before anyone was hurt.
