Did you buy it dirt cheap off of ebay? There's a "plague" going around there where scumbag sellers sell Flash DrivesFlash Drives advertising as a much larger size, after they used some formatting tricks that report them as that size even though they truly have a much smaller capacity. It happened to me once as well. I forget the name of the utility that I used to detect the real capacity back then, but give this software a try. Clicky
