Good news for me since I will be in the market for a new card around Xmas. Hope Nvidia and AMD go head to head in a price war!

Nope still running the 8800 gt from about 4 years ago. Card is still OK I guess. But it's time for something with some more punch. My rule of thumb is upgrade ever 3 years or so. Next year maybe the year I do a full upgrade meaning System board, processor, memory. I have been able to get my 3.16 duo to 3.8 stable. I'm still shooting to get it up to 4ghz though. I think it's my missmatch memory giving me issues there. I can get it to boot fine but when stress testing I throw errors. If I get the video card now I won't need to pugrade that next year.
I'd love to do the full thing this year but not sure I can swing it.

I'm more lazy about my computers, . "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" is my motto. I'm still using my 8600 GTS and it's awesome. I'm able to crank all settings to the max and turn on all extra graphic effects, and get no frame drops and great fps. Even the newest games run smooth as glass, and I haven't even overclocked it yet, but it's overclockable. For anyone on a budget these days and want a great card without dropping a ton of cash, this card is pretty cheap these days.
Wait till you play the new star wars mmo though. You may want an upgrade in computer parts. Maybe not though but I bet the max specs (in order to crank settings) will be more then some games. Just because it's an online game.
I like upgrading my stuff. For me it's fun even if things are running great. Just a hobby I guess. But I usually find a use for my older stuff. Eventually I trickle it down someplace and upgrade an older system.
Also sometimes you don't know what your missing. things look great to you but then if you saw the same game on a newer system you may surprised.

Possibly, but I hope not. This pc is still a powerhouse though.
Usually MMO's are a bit less resource intensive because they need to make sure it runs and looks good on so many types of computers, including a lot of low-end one's, while they crank up the requirements for new, single player type games. I've been playing alot of the high-graphics single player ones (when I play) lately, like Crysis, Mass Effect 2 and Bioshock, and it still runs great. *knocks on wood*
Btw, be careful when ya even just mention the game SWTOR .. I get like Fred Flintstone when he hear's the word "Bet" in that episode where he had a gambling problem ... "Bet?? B - B -B -B -B - Bettt??? B - B -B -B -B - Betttttttt???" heheh
OC that processor and you could I"m sure get it over 3ghz.
But yea the problem is there trying to get mmo's graphics in par with single player games. there's a balance they have to hit. People want that "next gen mmo" and that means graphics. But not all are going to be Age of Connan that was all nice graphics at the cost of game play. but I suspect in order to really crank SWTOR you will need a fairly good rig. I think you'd be ok but maybe not cranking everything due to lag in crowded areas. But who knows. I"m just waiting for that game to come out to make a judgment. I've been burned on being excited for an mmo and have it fall short so will just see. It all depends on how that game plays. From what I"ve seen though sounds to me kinda like more single player with the whole story line thing. Will see I guess.

Didn't you get a new one within the last year? You go through graphics cards like I go through ... protein shakes ... or somethin' ...
