I was working nights at the time and my mom wakes me with a knock on my door and says something like "Roger you should check if youre expected at work because terrorists just knocked down the twin towers"

How close to the WTC building are ya? Were you able to see it all from your place?
A few miles away, I live in Queens but I could have seen it from any roof with an unobstructed view. Just as well that I didn't get to work yet because they shut down all public transportation, girl I was seeing at the time had to WALK from Central Park West, across the 59th st bridge and then all the way down Queens Blvd to get near my area. For those that don't live here, trust me thats looooooooooong 
And it was while there was all of that nuclear looking fallout too, eh?
The fallout cloud didn't go up to midtown. I suppose it looked bigger on TV than it actually was because the people I knew who walked from midtown didn't have any dust or anything on them.
Were you within visual range of it all?
Hard to remember now, but I think I was watching it on tv after the crashes, but before they collapsed, so I saw them collapse live. I was in a state of shock for the rest of the day. Hard to sort of absorb the scale of such a thing right away.

When the first plane hit the first tower I was driving down the road in my high top conversion van. My van had a tv in it and I use to turn on the news all the time and listen to it. I had just dropped off my two youngest at pre-school and my oldest was in elementary school and I was on my way to Walmart. I pulled into Walmart and sat in the parking lot in shock watching. I then spent the day with my good friend Eve who called me up hysterical on the phone her sister is a NY city cop and she was on the phone with her just prior to the second tower being hit, her sister was crying and the phone then it went dead then tower two was hit. It wasn't till 11 hours later that we found out her sister was ok.
