hi Geekdroppers I'm hoping that you can help me solve ths problem that I've spent weeks trying to sort out. I've just about lost my mind trying everything. The best I've seen searching all the computer help sites Google shows me when searching for this is to delete or rename the operaprefs.ini in C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\Opera\Opera, which does solve the problem, HOWEVER, it also trashes all of your other settings and customizations, and extensions you have had installed. This wasn't acceptable to me for what seems like a relatively trivial problem. it's like doing a full reformat and install of Windows just because you cant check your email, SO I renamed the operaprefs.ini back to my broken one and just want to figure the real problem out.
I'm using Opera 11.01 on Windows XP and on sites like YouTube and other videos or movies sites that use Adobe Flash to play the video all I get is a black box with no controls on it, and even clicking the black box won't play the video. And on other websites I get a lot of XML code where I am guessing Ads are supposed to be. I don't mind the Ads not showing,
, but I hate seeing a lot of raw XML code there too.
So far even Opera support hasn't been able to help. if you can help me sort this out I would be ecstatic.
Oh, here is an example of the raw XML code that I see when visiting some web sites.

Thank you in advance!

There seems to be a problem with Opera's "load plugins on demand" option. Try unchecking the box in Settings | Preferences | Content | Enable plug-ins only on demand and see if that helps ya out.
