alright, so i got a new computer, which i love, now heres my massive problem, all the connections on the new computer are SATA, all the connections on my old comptuer are 40 pin, see my problem? i got a RAID IDE controller and i thought this would allow my computer to pick up on my old hard drive and id be able to pull my files from it, apparently not,
i know the driver for the RAID IDE controller is installed, i tried using a jumper thinking that was the problem, but still no luck, HELP PLEASE! 
never mind i got it, i forgot, cd dvd drive got a 40 pin connection

You could use one of those adapters like I used in my How To Clone A Hard Drive thread. They make them for IDE to SATA. Here is one with good reviews:

Or you can get a external case for it like one of these
. As far as raid controller card they can be tricky since raid works best when installed at same time as OS. I think that is something that your just going to have to play with.
