Love in the Time of Cholera, by Gabriel Garcia Márquez , is one of my all time favorite novels. First published back in 1985 and released as a film in 2007, Love in the time of Cholera is a story of obessive love that spans about a 50 year period. The two main characters, Florentino Ariza and Fermina Daza, fall for each other in their youth. As the years go by, and circumstance and distance divides them, Florentino's love for Fermina grows as her feelings turn into want of security. She marries another man and the story of her marriage and regrets, as well as Florentino's life of obsession and excess, unfolds. If you haven't had a chance to read this yet, I do recommend you give it a try. It has it's slow moments but, don't give up on it. It's a wonderful book and the movie wasn't half bad in my opinion
I wanted to read that. Let me know how you like it.
I saw the movie a few weeks ago. Or maybe months. I dunno. Anyway, it was good. But I enjoyed the book lots more. I won't lie. It's a bit boring at first. But gets lots better.
edit- Just reread my original post. Guess it was months ago I saw the movie. *shrug*
