So Facebook has a new trick up their sleeve which is annoying the heck out of many many people. In fact, I myself tried to send a request to someone who lives less that 15 minutes away and it wouldn't let me. So if you've gotten the Facebook "Do you know this person?", "Friend Request Can't Be Sent" message while trying to send a Facebook friend request, here's the GeekDrop trick on how to outslick Facebook and send that request anyway. It's actually very simple.
Here's what you'll be needing:
- Firefox (FF)
- The FF extension named "Tamper Data". (Install it, and then restart FF).
Once the Tamper Data extension is installed, you'll find it's menu item under the "Tools" menu in FF. Click it when mentioned below to open it's window.
So let's start, simply follow the steps in the screenshots below ...
- You'll need to get to the "Send request" screen as shown above. The trick here is to just keep clicking the "Add Friend" button, and closing the "Do you know this user personally" dialog box over and over until the "Send Request" screen shown above finally pops up. It may be the second time, it may be the 50th time, but it'll eventually pop up.
- When it does, go to the "Tools" menu in Firefox and click the "Tamper Data" menu item near or at the bottom of the list.
- Then as shown in the screen below, click the "Start Tamper" menu item.
- And then finally, click the "Send Request" button in the screenshot above.
Once you click the OK button on the edit screen you'll see the above popup dialog, just click the OK button. This needs to be done to keep all data proper before it's sent.

Did you mean SOMETIMES work and SOMETIMES doesn't work??
Well, it's a trick.. I don't think there's a perfect trick and glitches are expected everywhere. Try doing it over again with a lil more patience, pretty sure something just went wrong. I tried it and it worked for me.
Looks like the folks at FaceBook are paying close attention to GeekDrop! 3 days after posting this thread you now get this new dialog instead:
And of course since I know Sammi *cough*, I sent it anyway. 
Just a head's up ... Facebook is now detecting this and blocking friend requests. I got it after trying to get the friend request box to pop up rather than the "do you know this person" box. After about 4-5 open/closes it happened.
It may have also been triggered because I've had alot of unanswered friend requests to celebs and stuff hanging out in my list for a long time (apparently not everyone uses facebook daily, 
). Maybe if you have a certain number of unanswered requests, facebook starts to get "irritated" with you.

I had done it, but now I feared Facebook will ban me sooner or later...
Help!?!?! im banned for 4 days and i only sent out like 10 requests. 
. this method would be good but ill never get the "send this member a request pop up" because im banned from request (for no reason) help
it give me error "something went wrong. we're working on getting it fixed as soon as we can"
Hi there, I tried doing the instructions but i got a different version of the error. When i click Add friend, it says this:
Because sending requests to strangers is considered spam, your friend requests have been blocked for 7 days. Please visit the help center to learn more or let us know if you believe we've made a mistake.
Is there another way to bypass this? thanks.
