it's got everything to do with them...so is the nature of the beast in those countries. there are no good politics. and one hand washes the other.
i'm not agreeing with him trying to get back into the presidential seat...you asked why those countries felt the need to involve themselves...those were the reasons.

yeah, his "ousting" was all legal and the thing is, of course they are making it seem as thought ppl want him reinstated. Chavez has a lot of pull. of course there are those who would see him back in office but it's just not the laws of that country.
to think that it can turn into an all out war of sorts to get this situation in order is scary. it hits too close to home for me, and seriously some of those countries mentioned already have their own issues to contend with. but the politics are so warped over there.
i'm thinking travel to any of those countries isn't a great idea at the moment. when i visited, or when my family visits, we/they were not allowed to step one foot out the door alone. and that was before all this...

In teguc, most have tall cement walls around their properties with shards of glass and barbed wire fixed on the top. And literally killer-dogs and guards that roam around the house at night and will rip the parts off of anyone who steps foot on the property. you have to carry a pistol with you and think twice about withdrawing money from the bank, as you are likely to be killed for it. People are so desperate they will pick you up and take the shoes off your feet. desperately poor children are beat and made deformed by their parents so that they can get more money begging on the streets--but you can't give in to your heart breaking for them, if you give them loads, they will just get in 'trouble' the next day when they don't bring home the same. It is a beautiful country, but a sad one. As a family friend said, Honduras is beautiful, but then the sun comes up...

i have family in San Salvador and spread out in that area.
yeah before my grandma passed away (sigh), the home where she lived was patroled at night by armed guards. it was a series of homes attached to one another...sorta like a gated community here but not fancy.
anywhere you go you will find yourself with soldiers holding machine guns, rifles, etc...it's just the norm. the thing is...you don't know who the bad guys are there. many, many, many years ago the guerilla soldiers there murdered my uncle. why? cause they could.
a family member of my mother's child was kidnapped and shot. for ransom money. the child survived (thank god) and the family has since picked up and moved. they didn't tell anyone where to out of fear for their safety. i worry about my little cousins sometimes as they come from well-off families. and those are the ones that are kidnapped there.
it's such a shame. it's such a beautiful country, as are the neighboring ones. it's right next to the Pacific ocean and you can see right thru the water, and the sand is so soft and pretty...it's paradise...but not.

please say a prayer. i know he's been all talk at this point but now he's thrown away talks with the mediator(the Costa Rican president) and packed up to get back into honduras by ground, calling his supporters to come and help him as well. also--nicaraguan guerrillas are accompanying zelaya with machine guns to force honduras to accept him back into power they are apparently working their way towards honduras as we speak. "only God can stop me" he says.
as you know my grandma and extended family is down there, many loved ones, and they are worried saying that they can't sleep at night because they're afraid of what is going to happen.
my grandma said that everyone is sick of this but very afraid.
she said that if he attempts to cross, especially with guns backing him or protesters/supporters getting violent, there will be blood. 
if you're looking for up-to-date news, i read hondudiario.com but that's obviously in spanish -- just don't read cnn, the seattle times, or something like that as they've got it Royally twisted and messed up.
the United States and the European Commission has now in the last few hours asked Zelaya to stop and at least delay this and come back to the table. i hope that at least gets through to him.
**edit: i should add that the police are ready to arrest him should he cross the border, and to try to stop whatever violence that may occur with their own means of necessary force.
