Well it looks like Facebook has made some more changes. For Fan Pages the button is no longer marked as "Become a Fan", it's marked as another "Like" button, with the same effect.

Facebook become a fan pages

I'm not sure of the working theory behind it, whether it'll make any difference, but it'll be fun to see. Smile I think the idea is if you see someone become a fan of a page, and you just click the "Like" link, you'll automatically become a fan too.

Click Me to become a fan of GeekDrop on Facebook! You'll get our topic updates right from within FaceBook!

To improve your experience and promote consistency across the site, we've changed the language for Pages from "Fan" to "Like." We believe this change offers you a more light-weight and standard way to connect with people, things and topics in which you are interested.

No. When you see a Feed story about a friend Liking a Page, there will be no feedback links below that story. However, if you hover over the Page name, you will see a small preview of the Page and the number of other people who have also Liked that Page. You can then Like that Page to add it to your profile, or you can click through to the Page itself.

Yes. Liking a Page means you are connecting to that Page. When you connect to a Page, it will appear in your profile and you will appear on the Page as a person who likes that Page. The Page will also be able to post content into your News Feed.

On the other hand, when you click "Like" on a piece of content that a friend posts, you are simply letting your friend know that you like it without leaving a comment.

Wow they changed a LOT of the profile stuff, it looks different now.
Foolishly I clicked on the changes instead of just ignoring it and seeing if I could keep the old ways. I also seem to not have groups any more. Really it's kinda ishty, I don't like it

What changed? The only visible things I see are the thread topic, and how they added small thumbs to the feed when someone becomes friends with someone else?

well the order of the profile info changed, these little boxes pop up whenever you're going to write something in them instead of links, I don't have any groups listed anymore, when I searched a group manually and got to the page I can't see all the people who are a part of it. There are also these ugly boxes on the side of your likes (books, movies ect;)
There are probably other things but I'm too tired to mess with it now. I liekd it better before though

Laughing that would be funny. I could see some groups would have more dislikes then likes. Then the admin of the fan page could see who dislikes them - that could get ugly.

I like "fan" better. It just doesn't sound right saying hey come "like" my page vs come be a "fan" of my page.
