Well if your one of the 6,000 developers then you might already know about google wave if not then you might be lucky on Sept 30th if your one of the 100,000 people picked to give it a try.
What is google wave? Well according to PCMag its a combo of email, chat, docs and a blog. There are some interesting features about it too such as the real-time search and aspects to it.
A wave is equal parts conversation and document. People can communicate and work together with richly formatted text, photos, videos, maps, and more.
A wave is shared. Any participant can reply anywhere in the message, edit the content and add participants at any point in the process. Then playback lets anyone rewind the wave to see who said what and when.
A wave is live. With live transmission as you type, participants on a wave can have faster conversations, see edits and interact with extensions in real-time.
They also provide a screen shot
Still want more info well google did a video of it. Now mind you its not 1 min 20 seconds but 1 hour 20 mins long so if you plan to watch it you might want to pop some popcorn and get a soda.
If you don't have the full hour and 20 min then you can forward it to the part you need. Here is a table to help you locate the part you need:
using wave in other networks 1h05m00s
Or you can read up on it on PC Magazine that goes into details:
So who is google wave for? Well again according to PC Mag
So who is Wave good for? The informal consensus among the people I talked to was that it would be a fun tool for tech-savvy young people, great for collaborative work in a corporate environment, and way too complicated for email-savvy grandparents. (Sorry.)
If you want to sign up for it when its ready then you need to GO HERE to do that
Look interesting!! Signing up...

Ok so I watched the wholeeeeeeeeeeeee video. I will tell you the last 20 min was almost painful. I did giggle some they left in all the system crashes and all - this was a uncut video (come on google next time edit it please). The first hour was very intresting. Anyways I took notes and I'll even give you links to see the certain parts that might interest you
First you need to watch the basics of the WAVE to understand it- that is at 7m40s into it

very cool
I was excited when I watched it, They have some great things going on in this new program and its very complex. Its not going to be a easy one to get use to. I also think it would be great for business. I do agree with PCmag that this isn't for grandma and grandpa unless they were very tech savy.
I can't wait to play with it. I'm glad your boss was excited so yay bonus points for you
OK I see that James is doing the google wave and I am also (although I'll admit I don't use it much). Anyways I have 16 invites to those who want one. I do see that it auto picks up my friends from gmail that already have google wave (I see you James).
I haven't really played with it since its so new and well old habits are hard to break. I'll send out a few invites to anyone who wants one just PM me
