Once again we are found having to re-figure out the late night shows. I almost feel bad for Conan with his times getting moved but now I'm upset that I only get a 1/2 hour of Jay Leno.

So if your not sure what I'm talking about well here is the break down. Jay was moved to 10pm and Conan was moved into his slot at 11:30pm. After Conan was Jimmy Fallon at 12:30pm. Well folks were not happy and now changes are in the works. Here is how the new times will break down:

11:30pm - Jay Leno
12:05am Conan O'Brien
1am Jimmy Fallon

Now the big question will be will they all agree with those times or will one walk. I've heard rumors that Conan may walk since its been made obvious that he is still 2nd chair. I love Leno and I'm not real thrilled that now his show is cut in half. Poor Jimmy he gets moved back to the infomercial times.

So are you happy with the time changes? I'm excited to think that maybe I'll get my Law & Order back Smile

I honestly can't believe some people actually find Jay's show funny. I hardly have time for the late night shows but Conan has always been my favotite, he's the only one that makes me laugh. the shakeup doesn't bother me at all, I just a little feel bad for Conan and Jimmy, I've worked for completely incompetent people before and I bet they're thinking the same thing about NBC.

I love Jay Leno Smile
I do feel bad for Conan and Jimmy, they did get screwed by NBC. I'm betting one jumps ship to another network and I couldn't blame them.

Well dang I commented in the wrong section.

Ok conan wise I have to agree with glove and missb. Sorry SM but Leno sucks. Leno needed to retire a few years back. Actually Conan being on a little longer works better for me but I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't change networks like Letterman did. Screw NBC, I bet he would make more money else where.

Re: Conan and Leno times are changing

I'm going with SM on this one. Conan has never made me laugh, but I find Leno really funny.

Leno won't do good in a 30 min time slot. Personally, I think it would work out best for everyone if Conan went to Fox, where they don't have any latenight show, and give Leno back the Tonight Show. That way Conan won't have to be in competition with Leno... Since Conan has about half the rating Leno did on the Tonight Show.

I liked the Jay Leno show, but I must be honest and say I didn't watch his show that much. Either I was at work and couldn't, or something else was on.

Conan O'Brien says he WON'T follow Leno

Well it looks like its a no go for Conan. Here is a statement he released: clicky

Conan wrote:

People of Earth:

In the last few days, I’ve been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I’ve been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I’ve been absurdly lucky. That said, I’ve been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision.

Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over The Tonight Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.

But sadly, we were never given that chance. After only seven months, with my Tonight Show in its infancy, NBC has decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule.

Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 to accommodate the Jay Leno Show at 11:35. For 60 years the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. I sincerely believe that delaying the Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn’t the Tonight Show. Also, if I accept this move I will be knocking the Late Night show, which I inherited from David Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot. That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be unfair to Jimmy.

So it has come to this: I cannot express in words how much I enjoy h0sting this program and what an enormous personal disappointment it is for me to consider losing it. My staff and I have worked unbelievably hard and we are very proud of our contribution to the legacy of The Tonight Show. But I cannot participate in what I honestly believe is its destruction. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the Internet a time slot doesn’t matter. But with the Tonight Show, I believe nothing could matter more.

There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.

Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair; it’s always been that way.

Yours,

Conan

So what do you think?

Re: Conan O'Brien says he WON'T follow Leno

I agree its time for the old man to move out and retire. Conan is much funnier and NBC is really screwing up by letting him go. Where every he goes I'll follow.
