Arizona's New Immigration Law
Just don't take away my maid. Atleast immigrants will do the low class job.
Our portion of this continent has had a problem with illegal immigration that dates back over 15,000 years. If our government really feels that illegal immigration is so bad why not also kick out the other illegal immigrants. I mean Europeans. For generations Europeans have committed crimes against the decedents of the first people to settle here. These Euros have pillaged the land, lived off the wealth of others, stolen from the original inhabitants and in general have done every single thing the Mexicans are being accused of and much more. Last I checked the Mexicans had no plans for Genocide of the European ancestors currently occupying this part of the continent. Racial profiling will increase with this bill. Lots of innocent legal residents will be harassed. But hey, they're not white so who cares right?
No one has mentioned that the @ss that's going to sign this bill is the descendent of an immigrant.

i think were talking about the problem today not thousands of yrs ago and what border do europeans jump exactly? they enter the country LEGALLY by flying in on a plane and going through immigration and today most europeans dont want to come here.
In fact we are discussing immigration today however I was illustrating the hypocrisy of these laws. Europeans came to this country and crossed the "border" into what we now call the Americas. We then promptly set about unleashing genocide upon the people who lived here before us. At least the Mexicans aren't attempting to wipe us from the face of the Earth. They just want to make a little money. So it's ok that we immigrated all those years ago but it's not ok that they want to do so now? I think it mostly comes down to racists that don't want Mexicans here. This is just a convenient cover story. But maybe I'm just paranoid in not trusting a government with a history of blatant racism, genocide and no shame in taking everything from a culture and giving nothing back. History is HISstory. It's what they want you to know not necessarily what actually happened.
its not just mexicans its ANY illegal immigrants, thats including cubans, haitians, dominicans, el salvadorians just to mention a few, it would also include europeans, canadians, asians and others from different continents, if your illegal you are BREAKING OUR LAWS... PERIOD. its nothing to do with racism its to do with thinking you can come to this country get a job under the table, dont pay taxes and send most of that money home to your family. Its just not fair on the rest of the hard working tax paying citizens. THATS what its about not racism.

According to Merriam Webster, the definition of Genocide is (paraphrasing) the deliberate attempt to erase an entire race from the planet. Like Hitler attempted to kill every single last jewish person from the planet. Extinction. If the 'Europeans' were attempting genocide on the native americans, I think they failed miserably. And in the hundreds of years since, we're still failing miserably. Surprising, since it was a relatively small native american population. In fact, we've even set up reservations for them.
Also, Columbus was Italian. Not really 'white' so to speak, and he 'discovered' America on behalf of who? The Spanish, and the Portugese. Both latin based races, so be sure to include the latins in that genocide of the native americans statement.
Hey, I'm white and I've been 'harrassed' plenty by police in my life. And not just police. School teachers, security at stores, you name it. I've been pulled over for no reason whatsoever, countless times. And I'm innocent and legal. It happens. And actually I'm white and I do care if they 'harrass' legal people of any color. Asking someone to show them a legal ID isn't harrassment. Harrassment is something else.

Well then it only stands to reason that he of ALL people would know whether it's right or wrong to sign this bill, correct? After all, he's LIVED and is LIVING it personally, and still wants to sign it. I think I'd prefer that over someone who's never lived it, and has no first hand experience with it themselves.

Can you tell me exaclty how you 'celebrate' MLK day when it comes around? Do you throw a big MLK party with tons of friends? Have you ever seen the Chris Rock routine where he says "No matter where you are, if you're on a MLK Blvd..... RUN!" I think that just about sums it all up. And that's coming from a black man.

What event is the bad one? The fact that he discovered America? Where would you be if he didn't? So everything you're doing now on your computer and all of it's gadgets, the stores you shop at, the convenience, everything that is comfortable for you and fun, today is because of that. And you think it's the worst event in history? (or one of?) Do you think if only the Native Americas were left to develop America it would be what it is today? They were practically cavemen compared to the more advanced Europeans, similar to how we can still visit places in Africa and they still live in grass huts, in tribes and hunt monkey's for food with poison tipped darts they blow out of bamboo chutes, with the dart tips rubbed on the backs of poisonous toads. Conversley, in this day and age, do you really think having a flood of illegal Mexican immigrants who actually DRAIN our economy, who come from a failed nation already (they lived there so evidently they're not capable of making thier own country successful, right?) will have the same beneficial effect on a relative scale? Personally, I'm thinking not.
Calling this 'racist' is just another lame example of people jumping to pull the racist card because of how much 'power' that word has behind it.

did you read the name of the group? they break the law when they enter the country ILLEGALLY, your arguement is as good as saying that it would be ok for someone to hold up and rob a gas station, thats breaking the law too but if we arrest the robber and put him in jail wouldn't that be discriminatory against thieves?

i think the idea itself is good but probably not so much in theory. the amount of arrests would be overwhelming and therefore filling up the jails which will also cost taxpayers money. the police will be so busy making arrests and questioning these people it would take them away from what they are suppose to be doing which is fighting crime.
I know there are some decent people that only want to work and provide for their families but there are many also that come looking for hand outs or even just trouble and that's just not on. its an issue that will not easily be resolved as far as i can tell.
