Well maybe not iron- At the International Food Machinery and Technology Expo in Tokyo, many prototype robo-chefs could be watched demonstrating their cooking abilities. Seems that in Japan many of the younger generation aren't interested in cooking or domestically oriented jobs. This is a bit of a problem as Japan has "one of the world's fastest aging societies". Seems experts feel that robots can be the solution in the caring of the older generations.

Two American journalist doing a story in China were arrested for crossing the N. Korea borders and sentenced to 12 years of hard labor. There are rumors that they might not have actually crossed but that they might have been snagged and pulled across the boarders.
The two journalist are Euna Lee and Laura Ling. Laura is the sister of the popular Lisa Ling (seen below)
How far can one stretch their use of the first amendment? (Freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievance)

Day Care Fire Kills 31 Children in Mexico
A fire killed 31 children in a day care center in northern Mexico despite desperate attempts of firefighters and a father who crashed his pickup truck through the wall to rescue babies, toddlers and others trapped inside.
I love stories like this. The one powerball lotto that was 232 million was won by one guy. He is a farmer and had basically no money. Heck last year even his trailer was repoed, he doesn't even have a phone. What sucks is after the taxes his 232 million is only 88.5 million. So YAY for the little guy....

Police are investigating a string of disappearances and mutilation of cats in South Florida. So far, to no avail.
