Are you a gamer? A hard core gamer? If you are at what point would you play or would you walk away from this game. There is a new game out by Zach Gage that is called Lose/Lose. The game is simply playing Russian roulette with your Mac computer - yep its a Mac game. When you play if you kill a alien you will PERMANENTLY delete a random file on your computer.

Zach Gage the makers of Lose/Lose wrote:

Lose/Lose is a video-game with real life consequences. Each alien in the game is created based on a random file on the players computer. If the player kills the alien, the file it is based on is deleted. If the players ship is destroyed, the application itself is deleted.

Although touching aliens will cause the player to lose the game, and killing aliens awards points, the aliens will never actually fire at the player. This calls into question the player's mission, which is never explicitly stated, only hinted at through classic game mechanics. Is the player supposed to be an aggressor? Or merely an observer, traversing through a dangerous land?

Why do we assume that because we are given a weapon an awarded for using it, that doing so is right?

By way of exploring what it means to kill in a video-game, Lose/Lose broaches bigger questions. As technology grows, our understanding of it diminishes, yet, at the same time, it becomes increasingly important in our lives. At what point does our virtual data become as important to us as physical possessions? If we have reached that point already, what real objects do we value less than our data? What implications does trusting something so important to something we understand so poorly have?

KILLING ALIENS IN LOSE/LOSE WILL DELETE FILES ON YOUR HARDDRIVE PERMANANTLY

So if you have the balls to play this game let me atleast give you some advice: back up your data!!!

The game has a space invader type of look which you can see in the video clip below.

If you would like to check out the games website (no this does NOT download the game you have to click on a link on the web site) you can check it out here: Lose/Lose

Symantic even went as far as saying the game is "malicious" and they produced a video that really shows you how the game deletes files

Here is what I find interesting - its a MAC game. I think its fair to say most MAC users are not gamers so why make in a MAC game? I have my theory why but what is your takes? Anyone have the balls or lack of brains to play it?

Sutpid I mean you can really screw up your system. But Symantic even went as far to say I guess the game is a open source one so others can modify it. They can add all types of MalwareMalwarebytes Anti-virus / Anti-malware and trojan goodies. So much for MAC's being "safe". You would have to be a idiot to play this game. I guess if you were in the process of reformating and just wanted to screw with it and you had backed everything up but still no thanks.
