My daughter emailed me her school paper today. She said it was a word file but I can't get it to open. It says its a .docx file. I looked at some of the word files I have and they are .doc files. What is the x for? I tried to open it up in excel and that didn't work either. How do I open it up?

That is cool I've never seen the compatibility pack. Like you said a .docx is a word 2007. Gunslinger you can also tell your daughter to save it as a older version of word. When she goes to save it there is different ways to save it and the 3rd one down on the list is "Word 97-3003 Document" if she saves it that way then it saves as a .doc
