Re: Will newspapers will be 'extinct' in 10 years?
I voted:
No-i think newspapers will be around for a long time yet!
I think there will always be a newspaper. For some they like to feel it between their fingers as they read it, then you have the coupon group plus the elderly who are technotards ( my new word of the day).
It drives my mom nuts that I read my news online. I have a number of sites I hit up to get my news but I admit I do buy the paper on the weekends for the sales and well for bathroom reading material for the week
Re: Will newspapers will be 'extinct' in 10 years?
technotards, ! LOVE IT!
i know what you mean, i get a lot of my news online (i love being able to quickly zip through stories, being able to simultaneously research it), but for instance when i go into the break room at work i love picking up the actual newspaper and reading it.
ahhhh, forgot about the coupons...the weekly ads...i usually get those online now too but i suppose not all coupons are online! good point!

Re: Will newspapers will be 'extinct' in 10 years?
Yeah i think they'll be around for a while too.... lounging on the couch on a sunday morning with a newspaper i don't think will ever really lose its appeal! oh and technotards is really mean SM
Re: Will newspapers will be 'extinct' in 10 years?
I think they'll be around possibly forever, just as regular books still are. For one thing, ya can't really take a laptop onto the "Throne" with ya in the morning.
Not that I do that.
Sometimes you'll see a strange spot in the sky ...
Re: Will newspapers will be 'extinct' in 10 years?
I voted no, not anytime soon. There are just too many people who aren't comfortable enough with technology for print media to die out. I print coupons online, who needs the Sunday paper? Not me. But most of the people I work with still get the paper. The ones that don't are mostly mad at the local paper because they don't agree politically or because of bad customer service.
I get all my news from Google on my iPhone which (just for Starrdogg) works very comfortably on the throne.
