We we all love the wii and how it has gotten us up off our butts and atleast moving some while playing the games, plus the games are fun. Then you hear about the flip side of people that are being injured by wii's or their controllers. So wired did a story on the 10 Gaming Gadgets that will make us hurt ourselves. I'm looking at most of them and thinking "yeah ok that is a accident waiting to happen" or the "Ohhhh what were they thinking when they came up with that one and what were they on?".

Here is my favorite on the "Oh hell no" chart or red flags and FAILS

oh yeah I'm going to hand my kids this from Dragon Electronics (the Wii 8-in-1 Weapons Bundle this kit) , includes an axe, pistol, shield, a pair of daggers and some swords. It's made from soft materials and claims to be "easy to set up and use”.

Some of the other products were just plain stupid like the wii bowling ball, because I really want to see that baby implanted in my plasma....FAIL

Yeah its pretty safe to say those items wont make thier way under my Christmas tree this year. OK I will admit that # 7 I found kinda cool and well that may possible find its way to my house (depending on cost)

My oldest was a competitive fencer so I find those kinda cool. I did a quick google search and found that Target sells them (which you can return) and they are only $24.99 but the reviews were not very good on them. So that is a maybe (after all I can return it).

So check out the list and tell us what you think?

Yeah I have to agree with the glow sabers being the least "fail" of the list. Where do these people get their ideas from, I mean the fishing pole? helllooo...

Karma, it works every time!

I have the light sabers. They are fine. It adds an extra something to the game play. It also greatly increases the area needed to play the game and not destroy everything in you path.

Cool I'm so glad you posted that. My son use to be a competitive fencer (foil and epie) so I thought it would be cool to get those. I loved fencing but it got to the point with him that we either really travel with it or he was already at his peak. Well teenager - he picked girls

Are the sabers hard? We have a few of the controller things (like the nerf sports and such) so I was curious to what those were.

Ha. I saw this on Wired. And I really don't think these are such a bad idea. The car thing, yes, that might be a little too far. I'm not sure about the Skateboard yet. Way to expensive for me. Actually, I would never buy any of these. I love my Wii, but I don't need all these toys to make things enjoyable for me. The only thing I have is Mario Cart Wii, which comes with the steering wheel, and would be pretty hard to play without it.
