Subject: Wasp Spray

Never would have thought it!!! Good though.....

I have a friend who is a receptionist in a church in a high risk area who was concerned about someone coming into the office on Monday to rob them when they were counting the collection. She asked the local police department about using pepper spray and they recommended to her that she get a can of wasp spray instead. The wasp spray, they told her, can shoot up to twenty feet away and is a lot more accurate, while with the pepper spray they have to get too close to you and could overpower you.

The wasp spray temporarily blinds an attacker until they get to the hospital for an antidote. She keeps a can on her desk in the office and it doesn't attract attention from people like a can of pepper spray would. She also keeps one nearby at home for home protection. You could also keep it in your car and it would not be illegal. Thought this was interesting and might be of use...

See my luck I would use wasp or any bug spray and it would blind the person then they would sue me. I could see the mase thing about ending up macing yourself. I dunno if I'm being robbed or scared of it then I say taser or a good ole tried and true gun. What is that saying......

I think I'd actually rather be sprayed with pepper spray than bug spray. Although I'm no chemist, I've read bug spray kills by interfeering with an insects nervous system, and they lose control of their functions, until they die, while pepper spray just irritates the heck out of the nerves and mucous membranes.

Although, if I were an attacker and ya sprayed me in the eyes with Windex, it'd probably stop me in my tracks. Laughing

Great tip Candy, I would have never thought of that one, and yeah it probably would be worse than pepper spray.

Fo sho. A handful of centipedes and you'll see me doing the "I-gotta-really-gnarly-bug-on-me-but-don't-know-where it's-at" dance. Leaving my victim to escape unfettered.
