Microsoft plans on shipping early copies of Office 2010 in July of this year. It is invite only to be a test subject, but you can fill out a form to be considered for invitation right here. The Technical Preview is indeed invite only, but will be available to hundreds of thousands of people claims a Microsoft spokesperson
The preview will include Word 2010, Excel 2010, Outlook 2010, PowerPoint 2010, OneNote 2010, Communicator 2010, Access 2010, InfoPath 2010 and Publisher 2010.
Microsoft has not disclosed pricing or even the number of different Office 2010 editions it expects to ship next year.
...and just when we had 2007 down they bring out another one.
Are you kidding? I'm JUST learning 2007. Not joking
yeah I'm dreading the upgrade and I'll probably hold off. I know when I first got office 2007 (beginning of last year) I would send some a email at work with a either a word or excell file and they couldn't open it because they didn't have 2007. It was a huge pain in the azz so I would have to re-open it and then save it as the 2003 version. I would hope that the 2010 wouldn't have that problem. Its not like everone runs out to upgrade.
