With the economy being the way it is right now, some of us are bound to know someone, somewhere, who has lost their job. Here is an article on some helpful sites about networking to find a job and just general ways of cutting back to save money.
Great to know. I'll be sending this to a friend of mine. Thanks.

There was a act that past in reguards to unemployed who were layed off between Sept. 21, 2008 to Dec. 31st, 2009 that is HUGE however you will never hear about your former employer telling you about it.
As you know when you are layed off in most cases you loose your health insurance. Now you can go on COBRA - which basically will let you keep your insurance however it can be very expensive. For that reason most opt not to take it and go with out. So here is where the law helps but only if you know about it.

Help with paying your COBRA premiums
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 contains a provision that gives qualified COBRA participants a 65 percent federal subsidy to pay their COBRA premiums for up to nine months. You can take advantage of this assistance if you became eligible for COBRA from Sept. 1, 2008, to Dec. 31, 2009. This applies to workers (and their spouses and dependents) who were involuntarily terminated (including those laid off) or had a reduction in work hours that led to loss of health insurance benefits.
again there is more to it so click on the headline to read it in full.
