I just tried changing some basic settings in my Twitter (NOT my email) and when I clicked Save it said "Email is invalid". This is the same Gmail address that I've been using on the account since day one with no problems. What gives??

No way. Twitter won't ever go that way of getting rid of free emails to stop spam. Just imagine how many folks are using yahoo mail and gmail.. If you're gonna some that up, pretty sure more than half does. That's just a simple glitch and it has been fixed.

No, it hasn't been fixed.
I'm getting the same error with a Yahoo email account.

I've been noticed while registering on alot of forums lately that they don't accept email addresses on free webmail hosts (i.e. Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, etc.), they want you to use a "real" email address, from your ISP or similar, to hopefully cut down on some of the abuse, spam, phishing, Malware
, and so forth ... although I'm just taking a shot in the dark on this, maybe Twitter has decided to go that route nowadays too?
