What is The Tudors?
It is an imagined behind the scenes retelling of life at the English court of Henry the Eighth. The costumes are lavish, the atmosphere tense as King Henry tries to maintain a dying marriage with the inheritance to the throne at stake. Henry is the one with the six wives, the divorces, the beheadings, and the ultimate father of Elizabeth the Virgin Queen.

Elizabeth was an amazing movie. Still haven't seen the second one but I want to. Yes, I love the jewelry also. The show does try to stay somewhat historically accurate which I appreciate.

Ok so yesterday was the first episode. I gotta say, looooved it! I am sad that Queen Anne will no longer be a part of the show but, well, I knew she wouldn't be a permanent character long before the finale last season. So far the actress that plays Queen Jane, in my opinion, nailed the character. We were introduced to other new characters and the rise of the rebellion against the 'church' of King Henry has begun. Also, the Kings dissocial personality (well in my opinion anyway) seems to be coming out more. Can't wait till next week! Anyone else tune in last night?

I love, love, love, love The Tudors!! I can't WAIT for it to come back on the air. I
anything having to do with the court of Henry VIII and that time period. Having read so many books on the subject, watching the costumes, and castles, etc., come to "life" is a real treat.
