Hi Guys, My daughter is losing her vision and I was trying to make her pages easier to use. As a result I have totally screwed up everything. The icons on my desktop are huge, the dpi is totally messed up, the toolbars are bigger than I've ever seen. Please help me
I have vista! I really have made quite a mess of things.
Otherwise if you're not sure, try this:
go the desktop, hold down CTRL and scroll the mouse wheel up or down. Down makes the icons smaller, up enlarges them.Taskbar: right click on it and make sure "Lock the Taskbar" is unchecked (click it if it is to uncheck it)
Right click somewhere in the area where you find the Quick Launch icons, click View and then simply select Small Icons.
Then lock the taskbar again if you want it to remain unchanged.
in a hurry, let me know if this is helpful or not!
There are a couple of things you can try. The quickest way is to click a blank space on your desktop, hold down the Control key, and scroll your mouse wheel up of down (larger and smaller respectivley).
Note: That same trick works for text sizes, etc. in most programs, and does so just for that program. If you just wanted to make her browser pages easier to read, you can try that while holding the cursor over a Firefox page.
You can also try right-clicking an empty space on the desktop, and hovering over "View", then clicking on a size of your preference.
If none of that helps, let us know.
Hi and thanks for the quick response! I have been using your method since I found it yesterday, but everything returns to the big size
When is it returning back to big? After a reboot?

i'm sorry to hear about your daughter's vision problem!
Let me see if i can help you with the computer getting it back to the way it was or at least a little smaller.
What do you have? (Windows 7
