Debrahlee Lorenzana is filing a lawsuit against Citibank after being fired, well because she was too sexy! Are we serious here?

“as a result of the shape of her figure, such clothes were purportedly ‘too distracting’ for her male colleagues and supervisors to bear.”

"Debrahlee Lorenzana was prohibited to sport turtlenecks, pencil skirts, fitted suits and three-inch heels".

Wait, I thought turtlenecks and pencil skirts and fitted suits were business attire, has that changed??? I can understand if she was wearing mini skirts and low cut tops.

Her lawyer, Jack Tuckner, agreed that Lorenzana is a sexy woman, but said that shouldn't matter in the workplace.

"It's like saying that we can't think anymore 'cause our penises are standing up, and we cannot think about you except in a sexual manner and we can't look at you without wanting to have sexual intercourse with you. And it's up to you, gorgeous woman, to lessen your appeal so that we can focus," Tuckner told the newspaper.

So what is she suppose to do ? Ugly herself down? I think this whole story is ridiculous. Guys, if you can't concentrate on your work because a beautiful woman works next to you, then that is your problem not hers.

Here are some pics of her dressed in her business attire. Does anybody think this is not suitable for the work place? Yes she is a very beautiful, sexy woman, but I don't think she dresses inappropriately and she should definitely not be penalized because a few men can't stop thinking about one thing.

I hope she wins big time!!

Re: Too Hot For Citibank ???

It's not really the 'guys' to be mad at, guys are like that to women at almost every office or job in the world on a daily basis. Guys are just like that, they're always thinking with one thing, period, and it usually makes zero difference if either one of them is married or taken. It DOES help for women to always keep that in mind though, when choosing what attire to wear to work (or anywhere for that matter).

If that's what she wears on a daily basis, then if she wants less negative male attention, she could try toning it down a bit, you can tell she has a "I'm so hot" mentality to her. But really in this story the main people to blame are the people who've decided to fire her. And to be fair, nowhere does it say that it was a male or only men involved in the decision to can her. For all we know it was a woman or women who did it, but men are naturally taking the automatic blame for some reason.

Regardless, ya can't really fire anyone, male or female for being too 'hot', but at the same time, if I owned the company I could understand at least, the reason WHY they'd want her gone if no work is getting done, and my company is being non-productive and/or losing money because of it. When all is said and done, like most things in life, it always boils down to dollars and cents, and it's probably easier to get rid of (and replace) one person than an entire group of others.

For the record, I personally don't even find her very hot. I'd have no problem working with her, unless of course, she wouldn't back up off me ... Wink

Oh so that makes it ok????? Ya gotta be kidding me. So we need to make "allowances" for men now is what you're saying??

What she's wearing in those pictures is COMPLETELY professional, how do you tone that down? by looking unattractive and wearing oversized clothing so that her figure doesn't show?? Give me a break!!! If she wore mini skirts or low cut major clevage showing tops I would understand, but shes not.

really? I think your company would be better served by telling the oglers to keep their eyes off her body and on their work or they'd be the ones getting fired.

And that makes it fair?? Wow, watch out all you hot smokin' women with jobs out there, you just might be getting fired and it's not the economy thats to blame.

Rolling Eyes Hereeee we go again ... battle of the sexes. You do realize that this battle will never end, until the end of time, no matter how many points for either side are made ... right?

There are some things in life that no matter how you try to force people to be professional, that you cannot control, such as human nature, instinct, and thousands of years of human biology. Men are going to be horny, scumbag men, and guess what? Someone is going to be a target of that and it's usually women. How many times have your hormones made you do something you've told yourself you're NOT going to do? Messed with a guy (one time or "again") when you swore you weren't going to? Called some guy when you swore to yourself you weren't going to? How about this - What if I said somethign similar to what you just said; for example: "You mean what you're saying is us men need to "make allowances" for when women get super moody and bitchy that entire week each month during her Aunt Flo's visit???????? You gotta be kidding me." Or "You mean when a woman is pregnant we need to make allowances for all of her hormonal cravings for nacho cheese flavored ice cream topped with mint jelly that she's bitching at me to run out and buy for her at 3am even though I have to get up for work in 2 hours??? You gotta be kidding me."

When you're dealing with human nature, you have to take some things into consideration .... and one of them is ... guys are WOLVES.

Maybe she has worn mini-skirts and low cut major cleavage tops, but for the sake of her legal battle, and the media, she posed showing only those outfits in the pictures above .... ever consider that? Do those look like they were taken on a typical day at work? Or do they look professional and posed? And apparently men at her job have been making their attraction to her obvious for some time, I highly doubt she's been blissfully unaware of that. If it's made her uncomfortable, which by the sound of all the ruckus that it's caused you'd think it'd make any woman uncomfortable, she could try wearing something slightly less attention grabbing. Millions of other women all across the world do it on a daily basis, why not her too? No, that don't mean she needs to wear her smelly, 3x oversized sweat pants, there's a middle ground in there somewhere. If your perfectly ripped dream guy happened to work with you, would it be more distracting to you if he wore skin-tight shirts that showed his ripped abs, arms, chest and shoulders through it, or would it be easier to get some work done if he wore something a bit looser? How about if all he ever wore were pants that showed a humongous bulge in his pants instead of some pants that didn't? Would you tell him that it's the women's faults for being so distracted they can't get any work done?

That and tell her that what she's wearing is distracting the men ... and ask her if she can tone it down a bit. It's a work environment, not a fashion show. Save those sexy outfits for a night out on the town, a hot date, etc., and if she takes huge offense, like you are, it's become a problem, and what do you do then? You own a company that MUST keep going, and you have the men not getting any work accomplished because they have raging wood in their pants caused by a woman who loves to wear sexy outfits to work and purposely be a magnet for that who refuses to stop, what would YOUR move be? Fire 20 men and go through the re-hiring process? What if they're highly skilled men not easily replaced? What if THEY in turn decide to fire up lawsuits of their own for being fired? You've got a big mess on you hands. It's not a black and white issue from the company owner's perspective.

When has anyone said life is fair? If her job is that important to her, which I would assume it is, would it be that hard to dress a little less sexy at work? Like I said .. it's work, not a fashion show .. or the Playboy bunny mansion. Wink

p.s. I think your keyboard is sticky. It keeps on repeating certain keys, like the ????????? and !!!!!! keys. Wink

AGAIN, ya gotta be kidding me here!!! <== yes more !!! Yes men are all of what you say, but it doesn't mean that they have the right OR permission to go around all day like pigs ogling women in the workplace, sometimes you have to put a lid on that nonsense and concentrate on what you're actually getting paid for, sorry but it shouldn't be tolerated AT ALL...ZERO TOLERANCE.

Give me a break with the, "have you ever called, hooked up with, text, emailed a guy when you said you wouldn't" baloney, that has NOTHING to do with the subject here, the subject here is respect in the workplace and doing what you're suppose to be doing when you walk into that office every morning.

Aunt Flo's visit, pregnant cravings, mint jelly, nacho cheese ice cream again has NOTHING to do with the subject here, THAT would be between one man and his sig other, NOT an entire office.

The first line of that quote above is what you would call sexual harassment, NOT ALLOWED in the workplace and the courts take that very seriously. Why should she try wearing anything else? she was told to stop wearing "turtle necks", turtle necks don't show an ounce of skin. And why should she stop wearing "professional" attire in work because some numbskulls can't stop thinking of her in only one light.

Ha! I would probably drool for a few minutes and get back to work, it certainly wouldn't become SOOO distracting to me that I would want to have him fired or that my work would suffer because of it, pulease Rolling Eyes

She is wearing PROFESSIONAL ATTIRE, not some hot hoochie mama outfit that's suitable for a night on the town. And no I'm not taking offense, I'm pissed off (there's a difference). What would my move be? My move would be this: monitor the "guys" work and if it's not up to par, question why, sit down, discuss, have a meeting as to WHY that is the case, if he explains it's because of some hot woman that wears professional attire in the office but his "raging wood" is keeping him distracted because of her, well then he would get written up and be put on warning that his work needs to improve in the next 3 months and then revisit the situation. Keep an ongoing file of his work quality, and if it doesn't improve well then yer FIRED and it's because of your sucky work. Highly skilled or not, there ARE men out there that CAN separate both, or at the very least make it less obvious and not allow it to distract them to the point where they can't work.

Bring It On

Nothing wrong with a woody parade, but there's a time and place for it and it ain't the workplace.

So then you agree ... a woman shouldn't continually wear outfits that would cause men to have a woody parade in the workplace ...
