Ok have you all seen this show on TLC called "Toddlers & Tiaras" where it deals with children and the world of beauty pageants. If you haven't heard of it well here are two commercials they play for it
I understood you perfectly
It is like a train wreck and I really feel for those kids. I dunno this can't be a good thing. I saw one mom saying that they spend thousands of dollars on the dresses. All I could think was are you kidding me???? I agree I wouldn't really have a problem if you were judging them on their natural beauty - no make up. I think under the age of 14 it should be banned makeup wise. As for the bathing suites - yeah that is out.
this just started if your a east coaster - its like watching a train wreck
i caught this on TV a while back...it was like a train wreck, you can't help but stop and stare!
i think there's nothing wrong with (au natural) cutsie pageants and talent stuff but.....when it gets to That (serious) degree?! yikes!
kinda like those people who put their YOUNG but old enough to be hopeful kids on a national TV judging show for their (my opinion, which makes it worse in my mind: mild) talent. geeeeez, i just can't get over that. at some point they say sorry we don't think you're good enough and the kid is crushed! on national TV!
some people say hey if the kid likes it then there's nothing wrong with that. well my thoughts are if the child is showing some mood swings and *needs* to be in the spotlight that badly then there's something wrong.
and if it's all the parent's pushing that it's happening and the kid doesn't even want to be there then eeks, that's bad.
hope my scattered thoughts on this made some sense
~karma: i'm countin on it~
