Yes I love the Turkey and the whole Thanksgiving day TV programs (including the dog show) but the sides make the meal. However I'm not going to jump ship and swap the turkey for some other meat - I love me some turkey too
Thanksgiving is really a time for family - bus since I figured most would pick that if I added it I left it out on purpose.
MASHED POTATOES!!! i would seriously be depressed if i didn't get to make my artery-clogging & way-too-yummy-to-be-legal mashed potatoes once a year for thanksgiving!! wouldn't be thanksgiving without them!
But the best part about thanksgiving has got to be having everyone home & spending time together, the warm kitchen, lots of smiles and hugs.... aww i can't wait!!!
I love thanksgiving almost as much as Christmas. This year I'm no longer the new guy at my job so I don't have to work at night yay! Last year I missed dinner, do you believe that? Anyway I can't wait for everything, I'm gonna start fasting tonight!

I never fast beforehand because it shrinks my stomach a bit. I need my stomach nice and large, and stretchy on Thansgiving. I actually don't really stuff myself ON Thanksgiving day, but start gorging myself on the leftovers for the following days until it's all gone.

I said all about the turkey, because if the turkey is a fail, then the whole meal is, but i do agree that the sides are very important!!
