I dont know if you all caught this one but Tom did a blog on how you can kiss those captchas good bye forever.

Current mood:  happyCategory: MySpace You can get rid of Captchas on MySpace! Captchas are those annoying little codes you're asked to enter when you're doing important stuff like sending messages, posting comments or adding friends.

They are necessary to curb spammers, but they're also annoying and slow you down.
Now you can verify your PC so you'll stop seeing CAPTCHAs while you're logged in on any browser from the machine you verify. You'll need a cell phone to receive the verification code.

A few things to note. 1) This feature is available for US users only. We'll be expanding to other territories soon. 2) If you have multiple MySpace accounts, you'll have to do it for both accounts. 3) You are not signing up for text alerts or any MySpace SMS functions by verifying. Your cell phone is used ONLY to verify your machine and turn off captchas. If you'd like to sign up for MySpace SMS alerts, or if you'd like to be able to update your status via SMS, go here.

Now it only works for SOME cell phone providers. I tried to do mine but I use Nextel and even though they were bought out by Sprint I couldn't get them to send me the text...I was bummed. I hate captchas!

Well that's cool. I was excited to rid myself of those unreadable captchas, but wasn't too crazy about entering my cell phone number.
I know because the last thing we need is to start getting myspace spam 
Its suppose to be a one time only thing (that they only text you the once) so I guess time will tell.
I tried doing this with my fake profile for my apps, especially mobsters. But I don't think it works. My account was verified and everything, but I still get Captchas when adding mobbies... 
oh are you kidding???? That was the whole reason I was going to do it. Did you verify your phone number and all? Man that sucks if that is the case - then why bother. My kids have sprint phones so I was going to send the text to one of them but forget it if it doesn't work with mobsters captchas. Man ....Tom sucks!
