I am in dire need of assistance. You know on the right bottom corner, there's the time and then a slew of little icons? I want them OFF! There's like 15 of them! I can't figure out how to remove them. I disable them by right clicking, but whenever the computer starts back up, they're there again. I have windows xp.
Here's my favorite little program to see and control which programs start up with your computer. It shows all the spots programs put themselves in, and they have check boxes next to them, so you can do a trial and error sort of thing if you're not sure whether ya want to keep one or remove a program in the list.
Even if you remove it, you can still go to the Deleted tab, and get it back if needed.
Thanks, yall. My computer has been acting retarded for a while. I am doing everything I can think of to figure out what's up with it.

I BELIEVE they are your startup programs. Some need to run on startup... Others don't go to Run --> msconfig --> Startup
Then you can search here each one from there to see if it's necessary to run at startup. If not, you can uncheck it.
Dancin' with myself...
