So what is your Social Networking Etiquette? If say a fellow worker finds you on myspace/facebook and sends you a friend request. Or what if that one relative that you don't care for sends you a friend request? How do you politely tell them sorry or do you just accept them but only after you clean up your profile?

They had a etiquette lady on the Today show yesterday talking about this. She said she tells them that they "do not meet her criteria of friends". I was like holy crap I think that would be rude. So what do you do? Do you let the request just sit there and wait for it to expire ignoring it? Do you come up with a story or just flat out come out and say why they will not be approved?

Re: Social Networking Etiquette
My mom lives in friend request land on facebook. I think she's very happy there. Laughing When she brings up facebook in any way shape or form, I just pretty much ignore her. If she's asking for help, I help her obviously... but then I go about my merry way when she starts tellin me people that have accepted her friend requests, and act like I didn't hear her Blushing I know... not nice *shrugs*
How do you tell her "Ummm.... not so much"? Confused

Yeah I get ones every blue moon on facebook. I just tell them that I keep facebook more personal and more for family or friends and leave it at that. Then I generally tell them that they can friend request me on myspace where I have that profile pretty stripped down since I play mobsters.

My myspace is public... My mother is more than happy to stalk that on a regular basis. As I can easily see on my tracker.
I'm tellin ya... that woman has the makings of a hard core stalker. Most hits hang in the area of 1:40 - 3:20 AM

TRUST ME... my mother is NOT computer savy... she can ebay, and stalk my myspace. She hasn't even figured out how to upload pics on her Facebook. OR how to scan the old pics she wants on there. Laughing

Re: Social Networking Etiquette

well as some of you know, in spite of having facebook and myspace accounts, i'm never ever on either. soooo rarely. i think i logged into ms for a minute yesterday just to run a test...so, in my case, if i ignore a request it's usually just cause i'm never on those sites...but, honestly, if i do see a request from someone that i don't want to have access to my uber cool pages (totally kidding), i do just let the request sit there and hope they magically go away...

i just can't bring myself to tell someone- "eww, get lost loser!". i dunno. seems mean somehow... *lol*

"Most everyone's mad here.

"You may have noticed that I'm not all there myself."

Re: Social Networking Etiquette

I had a fellow worker friend request me on Facebook. I accepted it. But after a while, I deleted him, hopefully he didn't notice, but I got some kinda weird vibes from him a couple of days later which led me to believe he did notice. Oh well, its cyber space, not real life!

Re: Social Networking Etiquette
